Synseal Group are now offering a price match on like-for-like quotes on their Evolve VS vertical sliding sash window range.
The A+ rated Evolve VS windows come with all of the traditional stylings including elegant run-through sash horns, Georgian bars, sculptured profiles and woodgrain finishes. Vertical sliding windows have become hugely popular with installers in recent years and Synseal has seen a large number of Evolve VS installations being shared on social media in recent months as many homeowners opt for this classic style window to replace both timber vertical sliders and casement windows.

Halo customer Watergate Flood Solutions Ltd has been certified with the recently revised PAS1188 BSI Kitemark for Flood Protection Products for its composite flood door.
Based in Hebburn, Tyne & Wear, the company spent 18 months honing its design and subjecting products to rigorous testing in order to achieve the accreditation, with support from VEKA Group. The anti-flood specialist – which fabricates up to 50 doors every week – made the switch to Halo profile in 2015, and has been using its outer frames exclusively ever since. The most recent PAS1188 certificate will be the company's second, having already received one for its PVC-U door models.

“We have seen some really creative installations with our VS windows including beautiful conversions of heritage properties, benefiting from the modern technology of PVC-U windows but with the look of traditional timber.”
“For a house like this that would have had vertical sliders originally, it just felt right to put them back, but in a modern way. So we’ve opted for PVC-U windows with a woodgrain finish. Now the house is always comfortably warm and also quiet, which shows how well insulated the property is since the windows were installed.”
One example is a traditional farmhouse in Nottinghamshire which has undergone a large scale renovation to blend the old with the new. The homeowners faced problems with the original timber windows which needed regular maintenance and repainting – a huge job to undertake on a house with more than 40 window apertures.
The Evolve VS range is available in a range of colours and woodgrains including Cherrywood and Chartwell Green, all available with dual colour white interior, Astragal or Georgian bars, and a variety of hardware choices including white, gold and chrome.

“The PAS1188 standard was updated in 2014 with even more stringent guidelines and particular attention being paid to the amount of leakage that would be deemed acceptable for any products requesting the certification, so to hold this official safety standard means our clients can share our absolute confidence in this product.”

The Yorkshire-based fabricator is crediting its best ever month to the growth of its retail network members, with four new showroom openings over the past six months.
Watergate's Sales Manager Gerard Hiscock said: “Having previously gained PAS1188 for our PVC panel doors, to now have the same accreditation for the composite flood door is a testament to the hard work of all involved. During research, we worked extensively with authorities at both a local and national level, to make sure we were bringing something to the market that homeowners, especially those most at risk from rising water levels, could really put their trust in.
With more than 6000 frames, 200 roofs and 350 composite doors processed in June, it has been a very busy period for the fabricator and its 24-strong retail network.
