Clayton Glass have just produced a time lapsed video to showcase the revolutionary, self-tinting SMARTGLASS® Dynamic in action.
It shows how, in just a matter of a few minutes, the transformation of each individual glass pane throughout a hot summer’s day, in one of their first conservatory roof installations.

This new video is posted on the website at www.smart-glass.co.uk/products/smartglass-dynamic and at 2:39 minutes long, visually show the change in state of the conservatory roof glass from clear at either ends of the day to a dynamically darkened tint during the middle of the day, where outside temperatures touched 30 degrees in June.
There are also other videos on the website that perfectly showcase this glass technology for conservatory and lantern roofs, along with other residential and commercial glazing applications. This includes a production that shows how the new interactive Dynamic sample kits work with just a cup of hot fluid.

The sash horn product is just the latest in a string of new offerings from fast-growing Dempsey Dyer. Revealed at last year’s FIT Show, the Heritage Flush Sash is one of the newest additions to the company’s catalogue – a vintage-look uPVC sash window balancing A+-rated thermal efficiency with PAS24-compliant security, exceptional weather performance and convincing traditional aesthetics. The firm now also offers Deceuninck’s Slider 24 – the new best-in-class door solution offering weather resistance performance, including achieving Class E8A water permeability with a rating of 450Pa, Class A3 wind resistance of 1200Pa and Class A4 air permeability with a rating of 600Pa.
Launched 24 years ago by Simon Bird and Charles Greensmith, GAP meets the needs of its 31,000 customers nationwide through two large factories and its 46 depot network; which it has been extending at the rate of one new facility per month.

General All-Purpose Plastics Ltd (GAP) has announced the acquisition of SIG Building Plastics and SIG Windows from SIG UK Exteriors.

Others love the vintage appeal of sash windows, but would rather stick with casement windows, whether that’s through wanting to avoid the cost and disruption of having existing windows replaced, or just personal preference – and for these consumers, our new mock sash horns are perfect.”
The deal includes 66 depots and business units plus their staff and the sales and marketing teams that support them directly.

The companies are made up of four specialist areas of Drainage, Sheet Materials, Windows and Roofline. They include Scotplas, Omnico, CFS, PBM-DQS, Summers, Armour, Roplas, Toogood, Drainex, Plastics Pipe Supplies and Project Plastics. SIG’s Formerton Sheet Sales and Specialised Fixings businesses are also included in the deal. Ownership of all the brand names and trading styles transfers to GAP.

SIG UK Exteriors has announced the sale of its Building Plastics and Windows business to GAP in a move described by MD Andrew Wakelin as a positive and progressive development for both businesses.
The agreement will enable them to focus on servicing their core roofing customers.
Established in Lancashire in 1993, GAP has grown rapidly year on year, supplying both the residential and commercial building markets with high quality low maintenance PVC-U products. As such, they will be able to develop the specialist roofline, rainwater and building products businesses and help customers grow by adding a bigger range of products backed with technical and marketing support.
Arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth transition and continuity for customers, stockists and suppliers
