Midlands based sealed unit manufacturer, Black Country Windows is keeping up with demand by significantly increasing capacity and investing in a new state-of-the-art Emar sealed unit line.

By focusing exclusively on sealed units and glass processing, Black Country Windows are able to offer superior quality products. The decision proved to be correct as since then there has been no let up in the popularity of their sealed units!
David puts their success down to listening to what customers want. “Over the last 26 years I have always believed in being approachable and contactable as the Director of the company. Being available for any customer to talk to me offers them piece of mind and trust in our products and service. You can be safe in the knowledge that if you contact us then you will get to speak to someone with immense knowledge of all aspects of the industry, especially if you have a project that is a little out of the ordinary.”
The new sealed unit line arrived in exceptional time and was installed in time for the school summer holidays which presents new opportunities. David explains, “Some companies
experience a slowdown from the back end of July and throughout August due to the schools breaking up for the summer. I believe this provides great opportunities for winning additional contracts as many schools and educational facilities carry out improvements at this time.”
Their high performance sealed units are available on a 3 day turnaround, or by request, a same day service is available.
The £120k investment, commissioned and supplied by Advance Systems in July 2017 has allowed the company to increase production by an additional 600 units per day.
The new line adheres to strict CE European standards and can manufacture units upto a maximum of 2800mm x 2400mm. It has continued to help the company produce the quality sealed units it is renowned for. Each IG sealed unit can achieve high reaching energy ratings.
The family run business was formed in 1991 by David Yates as a way to offer the highest quality glass and glazing products to trade partners throughout the Midlands. Driven by a desire to offer quality without compromise David overseas many of the company’s quality checks and procedures to ensure every product leaves the factory to an impeccable standard, in keeping with the kitemark part 2 & 3 standards.
Back in April 2015, as orders were increasing for sealed units it was starting to become more difficult for the company to meet the rising demand from their small factory. It soon became clear that they needed to expand and move to a
